This is a fantastic DIY project that will help you recycle those cans from your recycling box and make an excellent gift idea for Dad's or Husbands for Father's Day. You don't even have to give them away as a gift. It's possible to make them pretty up your windowsill with some hard to kill cactus plants.
The very first step is to drink the contents of the can. Then you want to use a very sharp stanley knife to cut the top off the tin. It is possible to use a tin opener for this step but you want to keep the lip on the tin. If you use a stanley knife PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
The next step is to put on some safety goggles and attach the grinding stone attachment to the Dremel and sand down any sharp metal edges. I cannot stress how essential it is to wear safety goggles. When sanding down the sharp metal edges, bits of molten metal will fly off and try to hit you in the eye. Luckily, I wear large glasses so my eyes were safe. Wear the goggles. Protect your eyes.
Get the cactus soil and start to fill the tin can, you will need to use a spoon to create a little well before you insert the cactus. Don't fill the soil too far up the tin or the cactus won't fit inside the can.
Carefully grab the cactus (protect your hands by using newspaper to lift the cactus if you need to) and lower into the tin can.
