How do I help my tomato plants?
Help!!!! My tomato plants look like they are suffering from arthritis!!! Geraniums and another plant look like they are being boured out by a worm, sliced right up the stem but no sigh of worm and finally my knock out rose turned yellow and has purple/black spots on stems. I live in southern Alabama and the heat is brutal but I keep the plants watered. The tomatoes are in black nursery pots. Please answer for each plant.

What's the best flower/plant to grow in Texas?
I know that opinions vary, but what's your opinion?!I have great luck w Rosemary plants. Green all year long.
Your roses have black spot. They will need to be sprayed. Your garden center will have a treatment you can use. Don't water the leaves of the rose bushes. Black spot loves damp leaves. Water in the morning so the leaves have a chance to dry and rake up all the affected leaves and dispose of them. Not in your compost heap, it will spread. You might have some kind of borer on your other plants. Look at them after dark if you can and see if you can find the culprit. Your garden center might be able to help you there as well.
Your tomatoes roots may be getting too hot with the sun beating down on the black pots. A light color pot would be better.

I would definitely check with your local nursery --the mom & pop nurseries!
Good luck.
color of pots has nothing to do with any of it;black spot info. https://www.saferbrand.com/articles/how-to-get-rid-of-black-spot-on-roses tomatoes try adding shade cloth that you can remove if needed to get tomatoes out of scalding sun if needed or move the pots out of hot full all day/late day sun https://pallensmith.com/2015/04/23/nine-common-tomato-problems/ make sure the plants are dry between good thorough waterings and have good drainage for them only water the soil not actual plants
I'll add my two cents. . . perhaps they're also getting too much water. Most pests and bacteria/molds will attack when the plants are weakened. Definitely try watering less, giving the soil a chance to dry and the roots to breathe. When you do water, just hit the soil, not the leaves. In the future, add plenty of perlite or vermiculite to the potting soil. Most container gardeners forget that their plants can still 'drown', holes in the bottom of the pot, or not.
black spots may be a fungus, try a fungicide spray.
