Hi there, Could it be watering has not been constant?

Unfortunately we get a lot of rain and also have underground watering sprinklers I can not control. However I have grown many cucumbers in the past and this is the first time I have got wonky shaped cucumbers. These were supposed to be long English but I think they are a field cucumber.

Irregular watering is most likely the cause.

That is what happened to ours this summer when we went on vacation, came home to a variety of shapes and sizes nothing that looked like the package.

They will not fill out, unfortunately.

The larger parts are from heavier watered days. The skinny parts are from dry days. Consistently watering deeply every day will prevent this and give you more uniform shaped cucumbers.

They will not change shape unfortunately but they taste just fine and make for interestingly shaped pickles lol.

My guess is it's something to do with watering. I did also notice there aren't many leaves on the plants, something I've never seen before.

Thank you so much again for your help. This is my 5 time growing veggies and everything so far has been wonderful except my cucumbers so far. The package said they were long English cucumbers but I think these are actually field cucumbers but not for sure. It would be such a shame to lose them all but I have done everything I have read to try to save them. No leaves not helping. I did not know they helped the fruit. Thank you for all the great information.

I was really really hoping that I could still eat them. My biggest one looks like it would be ok to eat. I have never had this problem with growing cucumbers before. A few of them are quite odd. Lol

My cucumber leaves are turning yellow. Any ideas about why? The plants are still producing but much slower.

Yes you can still eat them, largest ones may be seeded.😃
