Need a large pot for the rhizomes ( the ginger ) to spread out and loose soil that can be well drained. Ginger has a long growing season and will do well in sun. You can start the ginger from store bought ginger earlier indoors to get it going faster. Check YouTube for some tips.
wait until it has a green shoot then just sit it on top of propogation mix until roots form and then plant into a large pot with potting mix
