Green potatoes mean they're being exposed to light. Cover them with soil and let them finish growing.
Alex Hi,. Green potatoes have green on them from a natural way they grow. I was taught not to use these, they have a certain chemical in the green part. Call your garden center, at Home Depot or Lowe's, and ask them what it means. Aloha!

Eating green potatoes can actually make you ill.
Hello. Are only the parts sticking out of the ground green? This happens when the sunlight hits them. I would push them into the ground or add more soil over the top of them.
Probably exposed to light...if they are planted deeply enough they are normal colored. They can also be immature, ie not ready for harvest yet.
