OFFICE MAKEOVER REVEAL!

2 Materials
The day I have been waiting for all week has finally arrived! I have been busting at the seams for you all to see the Office Makeover we completed this month. I hope you all enjoy and thank you for stopping by!

This room was really in terrible need of a makeover and due to it being one of the first rooms you see when you enter our home I am stoked that it is finally DONE.
When you have been staring at crimson walls for almost two years it literally makes your eyes sore! Really guys, the amount of ugly that is this room should have been enough for us to paint it immediately but life has a sneaky way of slowing us down sometimes. I know it looks like more a bedroom than an office but there is a desk space in the corner that will be used and we really needed an extra bed in our home.
Here is a little visual of what the room looked like when we moved in incase you missed my last post.

We started with painting the room. We would eventually like for our home to be a nice light gray palette with dark gray accents. So I roamed Pinterest for weeks trying to choose a color which was a chore in itself. If you have ever painted anything gray you know how hard it can be to choose something with the right undertones. Gray’s with blue undertones, grays with brown undertones the list goes on. Gray is hard people!
We settled on SW Repose Gray for the top half and SW DoveTail for the bottom. They both have no blue undertones which I love and they both look great in the space. Honestly, I think they would both look amazing in any space. So if your planning on painting soon, definitely check them out.

After much debate, we decided to go with a daybed that we could stack tons of pillows on. It would totally work as a sofa most of the time, then when we have all of our kids or guests we can use the space as a bedroom. We knew that buying a hide-a-bed would be a pain having to take the bed down and put it back up the next morning, so a daybed was our best option. This one also has a trundle underneath which is awesome since it provides us with two extra beds, who can complain about that!
Once I knew what kind of bed we would be using it was much easier to decide what kind of feel we wanted the room to have. So I started playing around with different looks and finally landed on one that we both loved!

We wanted the room to have lots of masculine elements due to this being our sons bedroom during the summer months. While also keeping a few feminine elements as well since our youngest daughter plays in this room almost daily. I think we created a great balance between the two and I love love love how it turned out!
We are still planning to add some floating wood shelves in the corner above the desk area.Along with replacing the desk countertop which is tiled and I’m not at all crazy about that. Other than a couple things this room is just about finished.

Also I am sure you spotted the mortal sin I committed with the curtains…When I purchased them I hunted everywhere but could not find them in 96″ I went ahead and purchased the 84″ to make sure I loved them (I do). So now I am waiting for another set to come in, then I’ll do some cutting and sew them together and possibly not end up labeled worlds worst curtain hanger.

Finding that amazing chandelier was a total labor or love! Every time I would spot one my heart would sink when I looked at the price tag but this one came in very affordable and came with bulbs. Plus I love the light it puts off in this room. It does have a fire like tint to it but that is due to the Edison bulbs. So if you have ever seen one you know the look I am referring to.

The cowhide rug was a total must have to give this room the right vibe. Since this room has to accommodate both boys and girls I wanted to make sure that both could use the room without it feeling overwhelmingly one sex or the other. For now I am using the leopard pillows to lean things a little more to the feminine side but I plan to swap them out before our son comes home. Our youngest loves the room so much she asked if her and her brother could trade lol!

Now to my favorite thing in this room! I fell in love with this Braemore Jamil Natural fabric when I laid eyes on it I knew I had to find a way to incorporate it into our home. Pillows are always the perfect accessories and such an easy way to change the look and feel of a room in an instant. I have a slight obsession with designer fabric. We literally have pillows coming out of our ears! All joking aside my trunk is filled with down inserts right now because the guest room closet is full, along with every inch of space under our bed in the master!

Now every time I walk in the front door I get to see this beautiful, room instead of the mess of a space it was before. The room now functions perfectly for our family as an office/game/guest room most months out of the year then when our son is here we have a comfortable stylish space for him as well. Just goes to show that no matter how small the space or how many different functions that you need from the room, there is always a solution. Bye Bye Crimson walls!!!

Great job! Very stylish! Where did you purchase the cowhide rug and how much was it? I've been looking for a good size one that won't bankrupt me! Again, wonderful job!

We have a Victorian, so I really, really love color! My dining room was red for the last five years, and I just recently decided to switch out to a light blue-gray. That's as much gray as I will allow in my house. :)
