Hi Hometalk! I hope you guys are having a great day! I have a very exciting makeover for you.

Shopping for used/vintage furniture these days at my local thrift store made me really observant. I always notice the increase in prices so whenever I go hunt for a good find, I explore the whole store. But then suddenly when I was searching, I bumped into not only a good but a really great find! For $14.99, I am so happy to score a gorgeous desk!

Here is the desk I started with. It is still in a good condition and for the price, it is really a steal! So excited to share with you how it transform from vintage to royal look!

To begin, I gave the entire desk a really good cleaning including the insides of the drawer.

Once dried after cleaning, I gave the whole desk a scuff sanding with 120 grit sandpaper and this orbital sander.

This kind of desk usually bleeds through paint and to prevent this, I primed it with stain-blocking primer.

After priming, I completely painted the desk with two coats of French Linen chalk paint, which is a light taupe. The perfect color to give the piece a classic and royal look!

And then to give a raised stencil design, I used Royal Damask Stencil and Dixie Belle White Mud(filler used for repairs, embellishment, and special effects.) Step by Step tutorial for raised stenciling.

To give life and to highlight the details, I dry brushed them with white chalk paint with yellow undertones. This indeed gave a unique character to the desk.

Last but definitely not least, I painted these stunning large pulls with white and then light taupe. Once all is set, I sprayed the piece with Clear Coat for protection.

And here is the finished look of the $14.99 Desk now. A beautiful makeover fit for royalty. What do you think of the painted and stenciled desk?

Spectacular texture, lovely details, and those pulls... So stunning!

And here's another look at its before and after. It's really amazing how paint and stencil can transform an old into a very elegant and beautiful piece. I hope it inspired you! Happy Painting Friends!
