A Vintage Desk - It Takes a Village

I found this old desk and it was in terrible shape. The legs were splitting the top was torn. Using wood filler and wood glue/vises the legs were repaired. After sanding them back they are now smooth and sturdy. The top was also repaired and is now in great working order. I happen to love the pale gray with white. The lighter colors really gave this piece new life.
Here is the before and after pic. The desk was in terrible shape with split legs and a leather top that had tears and rips.
I used General Finishes Seagull Gray and Antique White as well as Annie Sloan chalk paint for the leather top. It was fixed by adding spackle and sanding multiple times. I then added the chalk paint (two coats) and a stencil. The top was also sealed with Rust-Oleum Ultra Cover.
I added a coat of GF Winter White glaze onto the drawer fronts. I happen to love the vintage pulls!

I too have a leather top desk that I have been dying to refinish. I am really curious about how you handled the leather insert and how it is holding up once it was painted. Can you give me more help on this?
