As I redecorated my daughters room in a "diva tween" theme, her desk was not going to match her decor. It had to be refinished to match her bedroom.
My daughter loves to draw, color and write. There is always some form of crafting happening in her room. I knew just what to do to her desk!
The before picture. An old worn out looking desk needing some TLC.
Middle picture. Its the back center piece. As you can see I Refinished every piece of her bedroom furniture. Which I have posted already in a complete tween bedroom post.
Very dated, I primed the entire desk using a Bonding Primer after I washed it down in TSP. Once dry, I painted on two coats of an all surface enamel paint to give it a more durable surface.I then (using a foam roller) painted on three coats of Rustoleum Chalkboard Paint in flat black.Ive found 3 coats give you a more washable surface.
And here it is!
I spray painted the hardware black and added some peel and stick letters and numbers. She now has the perfect work space!
Also pictured is the diva bench I've previously posted.
I have one happy girl!
Its amazing what you can do with a little paint!
