Empire Desk Makeover
This empire style desk was in perfect condition, but I decided to paint it black to give it a more classy look!
i started by cleaning the desk with Krud kutter, which you can find at Home Depot. It removes oils and dirt very well.
Once I decided on the color, I chose these cute pumpkin glass knobs from Amazon. I use these often and love them. They work well for most pieces!
It only needed two coats of black magic by valspar from lowes.
Once dry, I lightly sanded all over with a fine sand block, then waxed the whole piece with a lavender wax by the chippy barn.
I added some paper inside the drawers. After giving them a good clean, I measured, then sprayed a general glue adhesive to keep the paper in place. I found this paper at marshals for under $3
Once waxed, I buffed it up with a cloth, then added the hardware.
I think it came out gorgeous! A classy look and ready for any space! This would look gorgeous in an entryway or office.
A simple change to any piece is always good! I think a chair that’s been stripped down to its natural state would be amazing with this piece.
Thanks again for stopping by. Hoping you find some cool treasures!
