Holly's Office Makeover

This project was inspired by the March Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest.
I began this contest with my office desk area in mind. See how drab and boring it is? It's about as plain and dull as you can get.
I do a lot of work in this office and sometimes I meet with clients here- which is totally embarrassing since I'm a "designer"!!!
Here's my office space BEFORE the makeover. My excuse is that we "just" moved in to our home (ok ok, it's been a year- but I also had a baby)...is that excuse ok?
I began the project by painting the desk (the details are provided in a different post).

The next piece was to coordinate my decor.

Fairfield World sponsored the March Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest, so I got to pick out a couple items to use for my project.

I chose two packages of these Rigid Design Foam Tiles 12 x 18 (2 pieces come in a package) and Metallic Rose Gold fabric. If you'd like to look them up, here are the item numbers and descriptions:

Item A-BM1812, Rigid Design Foam Tiles 12 X 18 - 2pc

Item A-LFM03, Oly-Fun(TM) Metallic 10 Yard Bolt Rose Gold
I took two of the foam boards (note that it is sticky on one side) and covered them in the metallic rose gold material that I got from Fairfield World.
Then took one of the boards and covered it in white materials that I already had. I added some painter tape to match the design on my desk,

...then handed it over to my cute little assistant to paint!
I love it artwork made by kids (probably because I have kids)!

And my son LOVES to paint and make art and crafts, so I try by best to include him whenever I can.

But seriously, what a great way to coordinate my office decor! And now I have once of a kind artwork in my office and a memory shared with my son.

The picture in the middle is what my son painted! I love it!
Because I had a lot of fabric, I decided I'd continue to use it to bring all my designs together (I'm REALLY into copper & rose gold right now, by the way)!

I thought a pennant banner would be cute. (Click through to my blog to see photos of the pennant banner).

Next was the chair! Here's the BEFORE picture of the chair. It was nice, but not my style and since I painted my desk, it needed a makeover too!
Here's the AFTER picture of the chair!

With some white paint and recovering the cushion on the metallic rose gold material, it coordinated with the desk area perfectly!
Check out the side by side BEFORE and AFTER picture!

Is this the match contest? If so is there a certain kind of chair that's needed?

    Thanks Lorrie.

The majority of the offices are offering a space, but no one said it is going to look good or fresh. The main reasons I always avoided working in an office are the amount of noise/lack of space and, in some instances, the quality of the office. Most of the time, I either worked from home or in a coworking space. The coworking space experience was one of the best I ever had. Meeting new people and sharing experiences. There are many sites like https://osdoro.com.sg/coworking-space-singapore/ where you can find a coworking space. A new experience was never a bad thing.
