You CAN paint laminate furniture! YAE! In this post I share with you the BEST paints for painting over laminate. After you have painted your piece of laminate furniture no one will even know that it was laminate!
Before painting laminate furniture make sure to fill in any scratches or holes with wood putty. Also if any laminate is trying to peel off take a small amount of Elmers glue and glue it back down.

The laminate desk in the picture above, I used Annie Sloan Chalk paint in French Linen. It took about 2-3 coats of French Linen. I always like to start in an inconspicuous spot when I first start painting to make sure I like how the paint is looking on the furniture. I started this project painting first the insides of the desk under the middle drawer.

Other Furniture paint lines that will work to paint over laminate are Dixie Belle as long as you use Slick Stick beforehand. Jolie will also. My go to is Annie Sloan because I've used it the most over laminate!

You will need two to three coat of Annie Sloans Chalk Paint. Once your project is fully painted you can seal it with clear wax. Wax is very durable and will provide a lasting finish! It is also water repellent!
Close up of the drawers with dark wax added. I took a fine tip brush and added dark wax. I lightly wiped away the excess wax with a shop towel. I Also did a whitewash on the hardware.
