Make Your Own Furniture Chalk Paint.

This is by far the easiest and most affordable way to make chalk paint.
This is what it looked like before the revamp. Not the prettiest desk. My husband actually insisted on not purchasing it, but I'm glad I talked him in.
I was on the hunt for affordable chalk paint from the day I heard it existed. Anne Sloan chalk paint has become pretty popular within the past couple of years the only problem was I couldn't fit it in my budget. Then one day while shopping at Lowes I found an instructional on DIY chalk paint. I knew I had to try it, so when I found this fixer upper desk at the thrift store I knew it was a keeper. $25 and solid wood.. doesn't get any better then that. A fresh coat of paint was a must and, after much effort this is what I came up with. :)
I also added a cute liner in the cupboards to freshen up the interior of the desk. I love how it turned out. The paint has withstood the test. It has now been 2 years with constant use it is just like new. If you want to learn to make your own durable chalk paint check out this link.
