Portable Homework Desk Upcycle

This is a wonderful way to inspire your kids to do their homework with a small portable desk homework helper station! COMPLETE DIRECTIONS/PRINTABLES & LOTS MORE PHOTOS HERE!
SUPPLIES


IMPORTANT:


There are links and clarification on the exact items used on our full site post. But you can use a variety of containers! Just make sure they are slim and only an inch or so tall.


1 wooden TV tray


Snack bin


Pencil/Pen bin


Homework Helper Pocket (tutorial linked on our site)


Velcro, two sided sticky. You can also just glue your containers onto the desk.


Paints


Package tape (for laminating the small labels if desired.


Washi tape (optional)

This is the old TV Tray we started with. We sanded the top a bit as it was rough.
We then painted a section of it.
After the first area dried we masked it off and painted the second side.
We chose the slim containers we wanted and used Velcro to attach them.
You can also just glue them on. Make sure to use thin containers so the child has plenty of room to still work on.
THREE FREE PRINTABLE THEMES TO CHOOSE FROM HERE! Cut out your theme of choice. We laminated the small labels with packing tape then attached them to our containers.

    Where did you get the plastic containers that you used Velcro or Glue to attach them onto the Lap Desk I’ve never seen anything like them?
