Desk Gets New Life

My son needed a desk to do his homework on. I started patrolling Craigslist for cheap or FREE Desks that were solid wood. I came across this beauty. It was in terrible condition. The top was all warped from water damage. Did a lot of sanding to prep for the paint. The final outcome came out nicely. Like they say. One person's trash is another person's treasure!
First removed all hardware and filled with wood filler and sanded.
Painted with black latex paint mixed with chalk paint powder.
Distressed the edges with an electric sander. (Tried doing this by hand but it was taking too long!)
Final step was Poly-acrylic top coat.
And a new desk lamp from HomeGoods!

How do you mix latex paint with chalk paint? Mix ratio? It's very beautiful.

Looks great. Is the colour coming through the green that was on it, did you just paint over it? It looks so good.

@Lori I distressed the edges, so the original brown does show through. Thanks!
