Repurposed Sewing Fabric Storage

Do you love to sew and have a fabric stash that seems to take on a life of it's own? All you need is a cast-off filing cabinet and some hanging file folders to give you back your sanity. This storage solution is perfect for small cuts and large yardage - I even put my leftover scraps inside the folder it's hanging on! Just follow the link to the post to read all the details.
Why not snatch up that curbside filing cabinet and give it new purpose for your craft or sewing room.
My once industrial office desk is not only perfect in color, but for storage.
Repurposed spice containers are easy to mark for my button collection.
Curbside antique drawers and garage sale finds, make for a lovely sewing vignette.

Finally! a solution to my fabric stash! Since metal is more archival than wood or plastic, I have been trying to find a way to keep textiles stored to protect against fading! I also have a 1940's full size, 5 drawer filing cabinet that I had NO idea as to what I could use it for.. win win!! I was reluctant to give it away as it's in good condition.I will probably fold & stack my fabrics with acid free paper, but the hanging idea is brilliant, to tab through when searching for something and then keep small pieces from getting lost...Many, many thanks!
