Sad to Sophisticated Desk.

You probably can't tell from the before picture, the varnish is flaking off and the stain has faded from the sun, taking away all the richness the wood once had. But the desk has great lines so it is worth working on.

Instead of going shabby chic I wanted to go sophisticated on this one.

The beautiful wood has turned an odd shade of orange, poor thing.

I sanded the desk down and put a coat of primer on.

I think I used about 3 spray cans of paint.

Stained parts were waxed at the end to give it a shine and to protect the wood.

This desk can be masculine and feminine, my client loved it.

I love you used the black/black on it and I wouldn't have known how lovely chestnut is if I hadn't seen your post. Thanks for the inspiration.
