This is a very special and unique child's desk and chair made by my good friend. It has a plexiglass top to lift and put art work or color sheets on display. It sets down in a recessed area, but is not attached. This would make a very special desk for any child or to keep at Grandma's house to play and color to make art work for Grandma. This could be an heirloom handed down for generations, it is such good quality wood.

The desk was a cast off to the curb that Michelle took home to repair, sand, and paint. At first she thought of making a checkers table, but after repairing the top she decided to make a place for a child to display some art work.
She cleaned off the top and sanded the rough spots off. You can see the top has a little recess in it for the plexiglass to fit. She then painted the table. The chair was also sanded and painted.
The chair was in good shape, it just needed a good cleaning and new paint job.
Michelle cleaned out the recess in the table top and sanded it smooth before painting it. Then she let it dry before adding the plexiglass. She even cut the plexiglass to fit the table.
She added the plexiglass and a knob on it to lift it to display art work under the plexiglass.
Children will have so much fun showing their paper projects they make in school or at Grandma's house.
What a great job she did making a special one of a kind desk for a little one to enjoy.
What a wonderful child's desk all from a cast off table and chair.
