Can you have painted baseboards with stained crown molding?

We are building a house and using beadboard for our ceiling that we have stained mahogany. We also have stained doors, door frames and window trim. We're putting shiplap on some walls and board & batton on some, which will be painted an antique white. My question is, should we paint our baseboards white to match the walls if we're planning to stain the crown molding to match the ceiling? Would it look mismatched and stupid to have different colored trim?

my contractor said he could refinish baseboards to match with stained crown moulding just as cheaply as he could paint them. Mismatched trim is not ideal.

Do not paint the baseboard. All moldings should be the same. If painted, it would look like there was no baseboard.

i remodeled my kitchen. my house is almost 100 years old and has painted base molding 9" I added crown molding that I stained. I left it for quite a few years but something always bothered me about it. It looked just ok. last year i repainted the walls and decided to paint the crown white to match the ceiling. I love it. the stained crown was cutting the room in half by painting it it looks so much cleaner and correct. Stain your molding and if you don't like it paint it later, but if I add anymore in my house it's going white. (I have always been opposed to painting wood, not anymore)

It is your home, do it the way YOU want it. Can always change it if you decide you don't like it.

Thank You. We're building it ourselves, so it's all custom. I thought this would be the fun part (paint colors, stain, etc), but I think it's more stressful than the building part. I'm just tired of making decisions, but you're right... I can change it if I don't like it.
