Use the height. Ikeas Billy bookcases are $69, and I’m sure there are others out there. Most bookcases are only about 12 inches deep, hold a lot, be it dishes or pretty boxes full of underwear.
Also, for about $12, you can get 4 risers for your bed, enabling you to use underbed storage bins for shoes or linens or sweaters.
In one closet, get a cheap adjustable shower-curtain rod and use it to have a double-rack closet for shirts or folded pants.
Clear vinyl over the door shoe racks for cleaning supplies, or whatever, like shoes. You can remove the door thing, reinforce with a narrow board back and screw into the back wall of a closet or a wall

Furniture that includes a storage feature is a must. If you need a desk, one with a rolltop or other enclosure will cut visual clutter. In a small space, clutter is more of a problem because you have less uncluttered space to balance it out visually, so look for furniture that lets you hide things. Bed risers are an excellent idea. There are longer bed skirts that hide them, too.
