Are you flipping this house or do you plan on living there ? It matters because in one you make it sellable maybe not your style. If you just purchased it and it's for you then ask yourself what drew you to it? Then use that as inspiration. Is it Victorian, plain suburban home 2 level or ranch from the 70's. Something made you pay for the biggest investment of your life. And what do you hate did they remodel it into something it's not in some rooms? Then focus on those. Or was this a blessing from a grandparent that left it to you and you want to make it your own and show your style? Whatever you do go slowly and one room at a time unless you are taking walls down then obviously you do the entire new room. But look at your closet thats the best advice because your style usually comes through your choice of clothing and colors you wear. If you work in an uptight office look at your casual clothes. And please put pictures and room sizes and if you can do it all or one room at a time. If house is old is it hardwood throughout start there have it refinished change stain but save what can be saved to save money and whatever you get rid of donate to habitat for humanity. Or if it has value such as cast iron tubs or kitchen sinks.
