Painting vinyl floors.
-
Mary Davin on Feb 09, 2014I asked this same question at HomeDepot and Sherwin Wms - it's doable, but very time consuming having to prep the floor before painting and depends on the level of traffic the floor will have to survive. Are you sure you want to tackle this and not just replace with something else? What's underneath?Helpful Reply

Kara Spurlock on Feb 10, 2014Lisa, I painted my linoleum in my bathroom! I love it. It has held up really well. No regrets! Here is what I did...cleaned really well with Krud Kutter, then primed 2 coats with zinsser 123 primer. It is important to use a primer that will adhere to glossy surface. Then I painted with porch and patio paint. Porch and patio paint is very durable! Let dry for a day. Then I sealed with poly acrylic. That's it! I like poly acrylic better than polyurethane , personal presence! Here is a pic of my bathroom with paint floor!Helpful Reply

Robin J on Feb 11, 2014I agree, the porch and patio paint is the way to go - it's a messy cleanup, but it will last where others just can't cut it!Helpful Reply

Mary Davin on Feb 11, 2014If the paints are tough enough to walk on, they must be loaded with high vox chemicals and odors - good for outdoor use but not indoors I would think.Helpful Reply
