We just did a complete bathroom remodel, choosing that project over a simple kitchen update (painting cabinets and updating hardware, replacing flooring). I've lived through a kitchen remodel and it was a very trying time so maybe I'm still haunted by it. I'm dreading even this simple update but it's necessary.
Since I just did a kitchen update, I'd next choose to redo the master bathroom by pulling out the fiberglass shower stall and upgrading to tile, raising the bathroom vanity area with two sinks, redoing the flooring and changing out the mirrors.
Neither, as I am not one to change things for the sake of it, when I still like both and they are not worn out!
I plan to remodel my master bath later this year. It has been a priority for a few years. Kitchen will be next project. Bath remodels tend to be more involved than kitchen remods.
I did a bathroom remodel when we replaced all the pipes in the house. It was a great choice. I now would love a Kitchen remodel but have heard horror stories. Guess that can wait.
Kitchen remodel.
Hi Amy: I'd start with the kitchen first. That's where most of the time is spent, and it's just nice to come into the house and see a pretty kitchen. The bathroom is nice and easier to update with towels, carpeting and curtains, so if your finances are low, do the bathroom.
Most definitely a kitchen remodel over a bathroom upgrade.
We've done both and I would say kitchen, because it's a room you spend most of your time in each day and the hub for the family.
The kitchen for sure, it is a very old train wreck.
It's a tough call because both rooms are so important to daily life. It might depend on several factors such as the condition and functionality of either room, the available budget, and other considerations. If a budget is smaller, I'd go for the bathroom but if more was available, likely the kitchen.
