Homemade All-Purpose Citrus Cleaner

Survival At Home
by Survival At Home
We’re always looking for homemade cleaner recipes! I was turned on to this all-purpose citrus cleaner about a year ago by a friend and decided to give it a try.
First, you need to eat a lot of yummy citrus fruit! We eat tons of tangerines around our house, but any citrus fruit will work fine.
Steep the citrus peels in vinegar for a couple of weeks. I shook mine daily, and flipped it upside down for the second week. I don't know that it made a difference, but I felt like it did. ;)
After the 2 weeks, strain the vinegar off and pour it into a spray bottle. I used the excess peels to clean the garbage disposal, but I have heard of people using the same peels 2-3 times the same way.
This cleaner is good for any hard surfaces, but we love it in the kitchen - especially around the stove area! It's food safe, so you won't have to worry about chemicals in your cooking area!

I do the same using lemons as I have a friend who has a tree so prolific she can't keep up with using them all. I also dilute mine down to half water when I put it in the spray bottle and keep a few jars in the pantry steeping ahead of time. It's great for odours and really makes things shine, especially metal.
