I Have a Sink-ing Feeling About This Project....

I love using things in ways they haven't been used before. And I do mean EVERYTHING. Including the kitchen sink!
I stumbled upon this way to display a vintage sink several years ago, and it's time I spilled the beans about it! Yeah, it really IS a vintage sink sitting on top of a folding wire shopping cart. The kind Grandma trundled to the grocer with.... the apron of the sink fits securely over the edges of the cart, holding it in place. Wrap the cart with burlap like I did, and it disappears - no one will ever know what's under there! And since your heavy sink now has wheels, you can roll it anywhere you want it: a store display, a flower planter on your front porch, or in the garden... heck, you can even take it GLAMPING with you!!! (if I'd thought of this back in 2009, I would have put it in the Taj Ma Tent!)

the metal table... is there a specific name forte metal? I have racked my brain trying to remember what the (very) old table and some dry baker slide or pull out "counter top or prep top" was made of or finished with... All I remember is you could do just about anything on them including write on them and it would wash right off with the dish cloth and I remember 99% of them had a red trim around the boarder. Mom had one but I don't remember what metal is... tin, sheet metal, aluminum, do you know what it is or what I am talking about? PLEASE HELP me remember what I NEED to know. THANKS A BUNCH!!!

I have the same 40's heavy ceramic sink, and have it attached and sitting low against a fence, filled with water as a dog drinking dish. Plan to tile the entire surface with blue and white glass tiles I got free, but need to be sure the glue I use is safe for birds/dogs/cats as a drinking source. Sealing with food safe granite counter top sealer may also work.
