Easy DIY brick backsplash for you kitchen. Using brick as your backsplash adds a lot of texture and character.

To start this project find some brick you love. This is thin brick from Glen-Gert in the color Garrison Gray.

I previously had removable wallpaper here so I starting by taking it off. Then I covered the countertop with plastic so that the countertop wouldn’t be messed up.

To apply the brick I am using Locktite adhesive. I put a generous about of this on the back of the and then press and hold the brick for about 7 seconds. I am using wooden dowels as spacers. Once I place a brick I use a dowel to make sure the bricks are evenly spaced.

I laid the brick in the traditional brick pattern. I used a tile cutting and a wet saw to cut the bricks down to size when needed. Once all of the bricks are on the wall I let the Locktite dry according to the instructions.

Once the Loctite fully dried I gather my supplies to start grouting. I am using pre-mixed grout in the color alabaster. Make sure you wear gloves because this will get messy. I have a grout bag, grout float, sponge and two buckets of clean water.

I am using the grout float to apply the grout as this was easier for me than using the grout piping bag. I over grouted the gaps and used the wet sponge to wipe off the extra. I used the top buckets of water to clean off the sponge.

I used the sponge over and over to get off all the extra grout. You can wipe off as much or as little as you want.

Once the grout is how you want it let it dry according to the instructions

Once dry be sure to apply a sealer. The sealer will keep your brick stain free and make it easy to clean.

Once the sealer is dry your new brick backsplash is complete
