Faux Tin Backsplash

I installed faux tin backsplash panels in my kitchen made from thermoplastic. The installation took about a day with simple tools and adhesive. The panels are from DIY Decor Store and cut easily with scissors. The backplash looks like real metal and was easy to install.
Kitchen before: Lime green walls. I prepped the walls by wiping them down to remove dust or grease and painted them white. Then I painted the area behind the backsplash with a dark grey paint. This way if there were any small spaces between the vinyl panels, they would not be visible because of the dark paint underneath.
After: Walls painted white with backsplash installed. Backsplash can be easily wiped down with a cloth and it very securely adhered to the wall with the construction adhesive.
The backsplash panels are made of thermoplastic that looks like galvanized steel. They can be cut with sharp scissors or snips. I prepped them for installation by cleaning the backs of each piece with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt, dust or fingerprints.
Cutting holes for the outlets was fairly easy with a utility knife. I replaced the outlet covers with new chrome ones from the hardware store.
The backsplash panels were glued into place with construction adhesive and a caulking gun.

I installed the Bermuda Bronze in a new kitchen with oak cabinets and they made the kitchen look like a million bucks. Easy to install and cleans much easier than wallpaper. After a couple years I noticed that the panel behind my gas stove started to "melt slightly or smooth out" a little. Don't believe anyone else noticed it but me! Never the less, I would do it again - as a matter of fact, I'm looking at the brochure from Lowes - now they make about 30 or more patterns/colors... and I moved and have another new kitchen!!! (plain old paint just doesn't do it for me)
