Coffee bars - they're a wonderful addition to any kitchen space, but they can be difficult to style! You don't want it to feel too cluttered and too messy, but yet you want to have all of your necessary coffee items within arms reach. My mom and dad have recently been renovating their house, and they decided to remove what used to be a desk in their kitchen, and switch it out for a functional coffee bar. My mom asked me the other day to come help her style this space, and I jumped at the chance! Follow along as I give you my "rules" for styling a coffee bar with a single shelf above it!

First, I like to start with a blank space, or as much of one as you can get! My mom knew she wanted her sctual coffee maker front and center, so we started with that and her hot water kettle next to it, so that her main and necessary items are up front and easy to reach!

Next, add your bulk or main items. My mom wanted a lamp for some extra light because her house is pretty dark! So, we placed the lamp in the spot that made the most sense, and we added a beautiful frame to the shelf to start our shelf styling process. My mom wanted this framed piece of art to be the focal point of the shelf, so we placed it front and center!

To help balance out the lamp on the bar, we added a tall piece to the shelf on the opposite side. This adds balance, texture, and height to the space.

Next, the cannisters! These cute storage options actually hold my mom's favorite teas and coffees, so she wanted them accessible. We placed them on the end of the shelf for ease of access!

The shelf was feeling unbalanced with the cannisters, so we needed a short decorative item to balance out the tall chunky pieces on the rest of the shelf. We added a cute candy dish with a bee on it to make the shelf complete.

Leaning into the bee theme a little more, we added a few finishing touches like the two gold bee's and the two coffee mugs (one with a bee). My mom was super happy with how we styled this space, and she couldn't bee happier to have a functional and cute space to enjoy her coffee!
