We are living the American Dream with our young family. We bought our 100 year old house which needs a lot of work. We did not want to spend a lot of money to pay a contractor to do the work so...I decided to do the work myself. I'm a 32 year old mechanic, grew up in Papaw's garage fixing washers and dryers and then went on the road to build over 500 homes so I know a thing or two about remodeling.
The counter tops are cherry maple. They tore down the the old bowling alley and by helping a cabinet maker, I acquired the counter tops.
Our dishwasher was acquired by installing a fuel pump for a buddy of mine. I needed to re-plumb everything.
The counter top and dishwasher placement/installation was done by me. I rebuilt a motor in a carpenters truck I have stainless angle for shelves I've had in storage for years came out of the old dominoes before they closed. As did the stainless that will make my stove back-splash and soon the back-splash behind the sink will be completed for transmission work I'll be doing for a tile guy it's far from done still have a ways to go but looking better everyday
Dang near killed myself busting my butt to give my wife her dream kitchen with little to no money exchanged beside sand paper and paint stripper . But if you don't have the money but hold a unique skill set anything is possible if I keep it up maybe one day I'll have the garage I need to run my repair shop out of after her kitchen is done . Oh yea I just broke another scraper and need electric ran outside so if a sparky needs their plugs and wires done in thier car I'm available Thursday lol thanx all
