The Transformation of an IKEA Kitchen Island With Chalk Paint!

I liked this (previously) IKEA Forhoya kitchen island but it was kind of 'pale' for my taste. So I decided to tranform it into a shabby chic style storage furniture, suitable for my living room or elsewhere in the house. I used chalk paints (I made my own mixes) clear wax for sealing and some dark wax to add age. I destressed only a few parts and here it is! Hope you like it!
I used a butterfly stencil motif for certain details on the item.
I painted the top with pink red color and I used tape to leave a whiter stripe all around the top.
I used a kind of white wash techique on parts of the main body after two coeats of turqoise blue
I think it looks great beside my grandfather's old refrigerator - now used as a bar cabinet.
Detail of the top - the blue butterfly stencil motif.

What fun colors! Also, I am having some serious fridge envy over here! <3
