Kitchen Before and After and After

When we bought the Big Yellow House in 2010, there was a hole in the kitchen floor from neglect or possibly a water leak. We were on a budget with so many other things to do and this is what we came up with.
This is how it looked the day we bought the house. The stove smelled like old hot dogs (I didn't eat a hot dog for the longest time after that). Besides the hole in the floor the rest of the horrible linoleum was peeling everywhere.
This is the first after. I originally went with red (love me some red) but I had so many red accessories it all seemed to blend together.
There, that's better! We cut out the middles of a few cabinets and added some chicken wire. We also used some bead board wallpaper on the other cabinets to match the new cabinets we bought for the empty side of the kitchen.
This wall was empty when we moved in. We added a pantry on either side of the wall with lower cabinets in the middle. The mirror was to hopefully add more light in the kitchen as we only have one small window in here. It really doesn't help and I will be changing the wall soon as I have other projects going on that require it.
More chicken wire! And pyrex! And as you can see from a previous post, my little table does not look like that any longer.
