A Creative Idea for Reupholstering an Old Stool

I picked up an old stool at a thrift store not too long ago. It had nice little Queen Ann legs, but needed recovering in a bad way.
I thought I'd try something a little outside the box--denim--not your usual go-to fabric for upholstery. Right away I ran into trouble. None of the denim from old jeans that I had in hand was large enough to cover the entire stool (not that it was so big). So I had to use some denim fabric that I had on hand, which was bluer and more uniform in color than I would have liked.
Turned out the blue denim was a bit blah and the gold legs were not very complimentary.
A chrysanthemum stencil right in the middle did the trick.
As did a couple of coats of paint on those brassy legs. With her fresh new cover and some painted-on glam, she's quite a looker now.
