A Little Stool for a Little Girl

I have a one year old grand daughter who loves to come to our house and visit us. I noticed when she was over she liked to sit on an old wood stool I happened to have. The stool was a little to big for her however. So I went to the drawing board and created this for her
I took a piece of 1x12 and cut it up for the top at 15", I cut the sides at 8" and the two rails I cut to be 2" wide and 15" long
I curved the top at the corners. rounded the rails and cut a small arch to the sides. I ran a 3/8 rounding bit with a router around the top and the arches of the sides
I cut two notches in each side to hold the rails
I assembled it to make sure everything fit and marked where I would place screws. I then drilled some 3/8 holes (not all the way through) where the screws were going to go. After screwing the pieces together I would put in some 3/8 wood plugs
I used the paint from my last project and painted the wood. I like the bright colors. You don't have to paint it though, a stain and finish coat on the wood would look great too.
once the paint was dry, I put it together
A perfect stool, custom made for my grand daughter. She will love it.
