I've inherited a light pine coloured Corner Curio Cabinet and I thought it lacked personality!

My husband and I are moving in to our new home in couple of weeks and the current wall paint of the house is a nice neutral grey. I thought I needed a focal point furniture that is an attention grabber which is why I have decided to choose this colour.

Materials Used:
- Annie Sloan Emperor's Silk (shell of the cabinet)
- Annie Sloan Graphite (inside of the cabinet)
- Clear Wax
- Dark Wax
- Glass Knobs
- A lot of lint-free cloth for buffing the waxes
- Buffing brush (optional)
This was the original piece after I've removed the doors.  As you can see, I've already started painting the inside.
Here's the finished product.  I have distressed the edges a bit by sanding it to expose the original light pine colour of the furniture.  I used clear wax throughout the shell and dark wax on the inner crevices of the doors to create dimension.
I used pure dark wax inside the cabinet to deepen Graphite's colour.
I have also changed the hardware with clear glass knobs to make it more sophisticated.

Nice choice of color. The interior really makes it pop. Overall, I call this an A+.

Thank you, that's really nice of you to say! I was worried in the beginning because I recognized that it a very bold colour to choose for a furniture but I'm glad I picked that colour. It turned out exactly how I've envisioned it!
