I love to re-purpose and this is right up there with my favorite re-purposing projects Take a look at the transformation of this cabinet makeover. It is going to be a baby gift.
I started with this guy! Nice right?
It was the typical veneer cabinet. I started by painting it white.
It still had some issues. There were some screw holes on the sides that needed to be hidden or at the very least the focus taken away from them. And there was cardboard on the backside. It was bleeding through the white paint on the back of the inside.
So I used a piece of foam core and covered it with the most perfect fabric and used my Cricut to cut out the alphabet and some fun animals for the sides.
My husband built a new top using lath and I spray painted it blue. I also found the perfect hot pink basket and made a liner using the same fabric.
We also added some legs to the bottom. I just think adding legs give the whole thing a new, more upscale look.
I used General Finishes Champagne Pearl Effects finish over the white paint and it looks so pretty!
What do you think? I hope new baby and her parents love it! Check out more projects on my blog!
