Beautiful Buffet Redesign with Woodubend, Paint Couture, and Posh Chalk Pigments

I did a paint wash in Paint Couture Baltic Black, sealed with Paint Couture Black Chiffon Glaze, added Woodubend appliques and Posh pigments to the hardware.

The top of the buffet had seen a better day, it had multiple water rings and had not been well cared for.

My Bosch sander sanded away the years of neglect as if they never happened. I started with 100 grit then 150 and finished with a 220 grit for the super smooth finish.

I used Paint Couture Baltic Black paint to create a stained look.

Applying the Paint Couture Baltic Black paint wash as a stain, I then wiped it back to remove some of the paint.

I then applied Paint Couture Raven Black Glaze over the paint wash stain.

Apply a thin layer of Paint Couture Raven Black glaze and then wipe back the excess.

I repeated the same steps for the base of the buffet with the Paint Couture Baltic Black in a paint wash.

I applied Woodubend appliques to enhance the piece.

I cleaned the hardware in a 50/50 water vinegar mix then used Posh Chalk Pigment in black to restore their beauty.

Before photo of this once beautiful buffet that had seen years of neglect. I always wonder what life a piece has lived, in this piece I think it must have adorned a beautiful dining room at one point in its journey.

I finished off the entire piece with Paint couture Raven Black glaze and highlighted the appliques and hardware with Posh Chalk Pigments in copper. She is ready to adorn a beautiful dining room once again.

Very beautiful...you did a great job. It is definitely a piece worthy of renewal, and you have given it the honors it deserves.

It looks like a museum piece. Really beautiful. I have a similar buffet that’s seen better days. It maintains the integrity of the original piece. Just lovely.
