A Facelift for Some Dining Room Chairs

The story of a girl who took her secondhand dining room table chairs from yucky to lovely with just a little help from some fresh fabric and a glue gun 
Pick a fabric
These chairs are what we were working with. The plastic material on them was not something my roommates nor I particularly loved. So I headed to the fabric store and picked out a nice fabric we'd enjoy more.
Remove the seat
This was pretty easy. All I needed to do was unscew some nails
Cut off the yucky plastic fabric
Somehow there was an even uglier, dirtier chair hiding underneath that brown flower seat mess. This material would serve as better traction for the new fabric I bought.
Measure and cut
I laid out one seat and figured out how much fabric I needed to cover the chair. Here it's a good idea to give yourself some extra material, just in case. You can always cut off the extra fabric after you finish upholstering.
Glue it down
Since I was working with nails, and since I do not own a staple gun, I simply folded my fabric down and used a hot glue gun to keep it down. Make sure you pull the fabric tight, so that your seat is smooth for the sitting.
Get those cushions back on their seats
I screwed the nails back in, which also helped secure the fabric on the chairs.
Enjoy a job solidly done!
My roommates and I really like how the blue fabric contrasts the wood of our dining room set. Hope you like it too!
