Sanding, Staining, and new vinyl fabric brought new life to these ugly chairs. Take a look at how in a few steps I was able to makeover these chairs and give them a whole new look!
These are the chairs before. Not my style, need some work!
I began by removing the cushions & sanding the chairs down.
Then I gave them one coat of Minwax Gel Stain Coffee. I was a little concerned at this point with the uneven coverage.
But, I gave them another coat a few days later & they looked much better!
Last step was polyurethane. I tried to sand before the poly & that did not go well. So I did one coat of poly, sanded the next day, and a final coat of poly a few days later. I did some slight distressing due to a happy accident.
Finally, I removed the old vinyl from the cushions & replaced with new vinyl using a staple gun.
So happy with the after look! So much more my style and they look great! I hope you like them too!
