DIY Farmhouse Beverage Bar

The farmhouse beverage bar is finally done! What used to be a dark, unused corner in the family room is now light and bright and used everyday!
The first thing I did was remove the cabinets and drawers. The counter top was staying, and being painted, but the strips of laminate backsplash were removed.
The cabinets and shelves were painted using Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White. Until I started planning this project, I didn’t know that there was a special paint for laminate counter tops. Online, I found that an awesome kit to paint and coat laminate counter tops. I got a little crazy with worry since the counter top had worn wood edges, but the primer covered it completely. I also added a new back splash using subway tile.
The mini-fridge tucked into the cabinet is just the best thing! To make room, we decided to leave off one of the existing cabinet doors and stick it in the opening. The hardest part was finding one that would fit in the small opening of only 20 x 20 inches! We found one online that was the right size at Best Buy and bought an Insignia dorm fridge.
This is the before photo of the cabinets! I would say quite a change was made!
