I have been looking for a farm-style table for my breakfast nook. I was finding them at antiques stores and auctions - but they were more expensive than I wanted to pay (I'm cheap btw!).

I was excited to find this one at a local flea market for $75!

Got it home to find a label on the bottom - that it was actually from a school from 1922.

Sanded down the top - loving the scratches and nail holes that gave it so much character!

Used my favorite refinishing product ReStor-A-Finish in neutral color - really liked how it brought out the wood tones. Topped it with a clear, gloss, water-based poly - sanding with steel wood several times to get a smooth finish. Painted the legs with white chalk paint.

The results were exactly what I wanted!

Perfect addition to my breakfast nook with my new shiplap wall! I brought my grandmother's chairs out of storage and will eventually paint them (again) and recover the seats - but am so happy with the bright room and finally - I got my farmhouse table!

Awesome job. Keep chairs like that those are some very cool chairs and I love the fabric on seats. Anyway you're not cheap just responsible with your budget. Take pride in the gifts or talents God has given you. Why buy same table for hundreds of dollars? And you know that this one has survived a long time and is solid wood not the stuff at stores.😊
