Who doesn't love saving money???
Well.. I LOVE saving money, especially when it comes to furnishing my home. I love creating something which is bespoke and unique.. so here is a quick and easy up cycle project for you all, using second hand charity shop furniture.. Enjoy!
I firstly went into my favourite furniture only charity shop and found this old TV cabinet.. I thought it would be perfect for my youngest sons bedroom as his bedside cabinet. He needed more storage in his room and a place for all his books so here is what I did...

This unit is solid pine without a sheen finish which makes its much easier to paint without having to sand down first. However, due to the knots from the wood, I would always advise wiping knotting solution over all of the dark circles in the wood, or yellow rings will show through your paint over time.
After applying the knotting solution, leave the unit to dry completely before painting. I gave the unit a base coat and then a final top coat. I used Farrow and Ball Railings for the outside of the unit and drawers and white for the shelves.
I then changed the wooden drawer pulls for these ceramic football ones.. my son is obsessed with football so I thought this would suit his bedroom really well.

Thanks for reading and watching,
