How to Build the Easiest Desk Ever

Need a super easy desk idea? Look no further. Not only is its style “on point” (kids these days…where do they come up with this strange lingo?), but it is a crazy simple build and sure to be a conversation starter.

Plus, this could be a console table, dining table, foyer table…the possibilities are endless. And you can have it done in no time. No kidding.

So, let me tell you how to build this desk. It's so easy!

The exact pipe pieces needed can be found on the link at the bottom of this post. I made 4 identical legs from black pipe using a flange, a long black pipe, a tee, a short black pipe, and a pipe cap. I screwed them all together as tight as I could.

Then I attached two sets of two legs together using another long black pipe (length will be determined by the overall size you want your desk) and the tees like the picture below.

I cleaned the pipe and gave them a couple coats of black spray paint. Black pipe straight from the store has stamps and oil all over them. You want to clean them really good and paint them so you don't see the stamps.

I assembled the top using three 2x12 boards. I glued and clamped them together.

Once the glue was dry, I flipped the top over and screwed the legs in. I used these Kreg screws and they fit perfectly in the holes of the flanges.

Then I stained and polyed the stop and it was done! See? I told you it was easy! The hardest part was cleaning the pipes!

What did you use to clean the pipes? I made a toilet paper roll out of pipes and the smell was awful plus my other half asked why the overkill. He said we didn't need a holder that would hold a three hundred pound of toilet paper. I then had to explain that decor was not always practical. It just had to look good, he then asked me if I thought my little project looked good ands I have to agree it did not.
