I’ve had this dainty china hutch in my inventory for probably six months. I was waiting for just the right client to come along….or maybe I was just secretly wishing I could keep it for myself.

I really love this era and style….and I wanted to take it a maximum whimsy style! But that isn’t what happened at all!

This floral ombre china cabinet is not a typical finish….or color palette for me…….and I like it!

It was filthy! It had years of grime and oil and a VERY musty smell. So I hit it hard with White Lightning by Dixie Belle….and that took care of that! Check out those paper towels below!

I then coated the entire piece in clear primer…..knowing without a doubt that it would have serious bleed through!

I used FIVE colors on the organic “non-blended” drippy ombre/color wash finish (longest finish name I’ve ever come up with…lol!).

Watch my YouTube video above to see exactly how I created this ombre effect and made all these color come together!

You can get a complete list of colors used on my blog (using the link at the bottom).

You can see that drippy color washed finish here on the side. It's a VERY easy technique that only requires a misting bottle at your side while you paint!

Isn’t it gorgeous on the inside??? I love how the terracotta really makes the piece pop.

The furniture transfer on the bottom by ReDesign with Prima was my inspiration for this piece. I knew as soon as I saw it that I would use it on this piece. And I knew I’d be pulling every single color from it to use on one piece of furniture!

Its such a dainty and romantic piece now! I hope it finds its forever home with someone who loves it as much as I do!
