How to Fill in Holes in Kitchen Cabinets
Well now it’s been almost 4 years and they are shabby and tired looking along with they have handle holes in them and I have these gorgeous glass knobs I’m going to use and have wanted to patch those holes. A friend of mine gave me the hottest tip and so I wanted to share with you how to fill in holes in kitchen cabinets……..and or any furniture or wood you have.
Here is a peek of our kitchen before and there are 48 cabinets and drawers and I filled in 29 of the cabinet holes.
Our kitchen is a very small galley style kitchen with a darling kitchen nook to the side.
Eventually we’d love to gut this and really open it up but for now we’ll continue to improve it until that happens. Here you can see the kitchen when we bought it and more of what it looked like before with dark cabinets and bold wallpaper and it’s come a long way.
Car Bondo!
Have you ever heard of using it? It actually is brilliant and sets up and hardens so fast, unlike wood filler that takes several layers and time to dry. Just a note it does have a very strong smell so I had the windows opened and a fan going and that worked great.
When you use this you’ll squeeze out some of the bondo (I used a plastic plate) and then squeeze a pea size or bit smaller dab of the cream hardener and mix it quickly and then apply it or push it into the hole. I could do two holes at a time as it sets up so fast. You can see above that it is thick and raised above and then it will dry and you can go back and sand it.
