How to Re-laminate Your Counter Tops

Hi folk it's Les and I again we bought a new mobile home and most of the side and splash board tops de-laminated so Les and I thought this would be a great time to show how to fix this small problem.
First we went to Menards and bought some contact cement and a couple of small throw away brushes
Then we CAREFULLY removed the loose laminate from the board
BE VERY CAREFUL laminate is very brittle
Then Les scrap off the glue residue from the backside of the laminate and the board
Then he brushed glue on the backside of the laminate and allow it to dry til it's tacky about 10-15 mins
He also put glue on the side of the cupboard where he will put the laminate. He will also let that dry til it is tacky
Then he tapes 2 small pieces of board from a paint stick on top of the counter top to act as a stopper when he puts the laminate strip back on, he doesn't want the laminate to go any higher than the counter top so this will stop it.

At a 45 degree angle he places the old laminate under the taped boards and slowly and carefully applies pressure. Start at the top edge against the wall and work your way towards the other edge if your happy with the way it looks go ahead and press the rest of it down.
Press hard sweeping your hand back and forth til you fill it is stuck solid.

After re-laminating. For longer pieces Les says to use more pieces of wood and have an extra hand to help you but he says this is a very easy fix for anyone.

My countertops have lifted from the base. I do not see any place that it has come undone. So I don’t know what to do to fix it
