I love when my husband comes home with something he garbage picked LoL
Okay, I always forget to take pictures, I have to leave post-it's on each piece i'm going to work on so I don't forget from now on. Knowing me, i'll forget the post-its. Anyway, My Wonderful Husband found this old hutch top at the curb and surprised me with it! I Love when he does that. This beauty sat in my garage for a year... waiting.
The wonderful thing about this hutch top was that the glass actually came out of the doors which made painting it a breeze! I painted it in my dining room because it was only in the 20's that day so it was way to cold to do it outside. Besides, I got to watch Christmas shows on Hallmark while I painted, that's a win win! I painted hinges, handles, everything! I painted it the same color as my walls, (free paint :) ) Atrium White.
After I had given all of it 2 coats of paint and it had dried completely, it was all put back together and I added these little "feet" to the bottom. They were only $3 each...
And here she is all finished and partially decorated. I like the fact that it's narrow, as I don't have a very large dining room and I have a big ol Pottery Barn Table and I didn't want to feel all smashed in. This allowed for plenty of room to get by someone when they are sitting around the table without having to say, excuse me I need to pass. Yes!
And here she sits, waiting for me to start DIY-ing the Eagan mirror, also from PB that I fell in love with but the price $700 was a no go. When I finish the mirror I'll post another picture and you all can tell me what you think! Hope you like it. Oh, and the grand total was $12.38. Yep, love when a plan comes together Hahahaha
And here it is with the DIY pottery barn Eagan Mirror that I made. So happy how it turned out!! I'll be posting how to make the mirror shortly!

I have a top for a hutch and I will be redoing it. I want to make one but use chicken wire to the doors I build.

I love it. Beautiful job. I have to laugh. My husband asked what I had planned while he watched football. I told him watching Christmas movies and painting a piece if furniture. Were we separated at birth? Ha😃

Please forgive me for being a dummy but could you tell me what you use to sand it to prepare it for painting as I have never done this and I want to start and its late in life for me but oh well. Thank you very much Nancy
Where did you get the "hands" holding the little tree or did you make them?
