Ice Cream Parlor Chair Makeover

I've had this ice cream parlor chair for a good 10 years and I've been meaning to give it a makeover this entire time. I can say that one good thing about being forced to stay home is getting these projects marked off my to-do list. This chair has been in Scout's room and she was so excited when I said I was finally going to work on this.

This is the chair I started with. It had great bones, but definitely needed some updating.

The seat easily screwed off the chair. I sanded the chair and then wiped off any dust & debris.

It was a nice day, so I took the chair outside and added two coats of red spray paint.

I used burlap for my seat, but you can also use latch hook canvas for this part. I placed my seat on the burlap and traced around it adding about an inch all the way around.

I drew a picture on my burlap of what I wanted my seat to look like. Using chunky yarn and a large needle, I started stitching on the burlap.

I wasn't sure at first about this color combo that Scout picked out, but when this seat cover was finishes... Wow! I love it!

I screwed the seat back onto the chair and have a fun and colorful custom pieces for Scout's room.
