When my customer asked me to paint her china cabinet I had to ask her to confirm the measurements. My workshop is not very large and her china cabinet is HUGE.
This is the before photo that she sent. As you can see it is large, gorgeous and solid wood. I know some wouldn't want to see it painted, but for the owner - she needed a change.
Luckily, the china cabinet seperates into two pieces. But the top of the bottom portion had some discoloration that I need to address.
Luckily, the china cabinet seperates into two pieces. But the top of the bottom portion had some discoloration that I need to address. The top is sanded with the electric sander to smooth out some of the bumps, nicks and discoloration.
The cutlery drawer also has some old and yucky felt liner inside.
The felt liner is replaced with new.
The entire china cabinet is painted in a creamy neutral vanilla. You can find great quality furniture paint online HERE.
The inside of the china cabinet hutch portion is also painted in the same vanilla as the outside.
The edges are all lightly distressed and the china cabinet is sealed for protection.
Once back home again the customer is loving the new look of her china cabinet. For tips to painting furniture white and off white make sure to check out Tips for Painting Furniture White.
