I thrifted this piece and knew it would make a perfect buffet or console. It just needed a paint job.

The hardest part is usually just picking a color for a piece!

Often I start cleaning a piece and prepping it as I think on what color may suit the piece.

After I cleaned and scuff sanded the piece I used Wise Owl primer. This gives the paint something to adhere too.

I decided on this beautiful green called Botanical by Wise Owl in the Enamel. It’s a great paint with a built in top coat.

Heres after one coat. The first coat may look scary but it will need more so just know that’s normal! It gets ugly before it gets pretty!

I decided the brass hardware would look polished. Using Barkeepers friend and 000 steel wool my husband polished all the hardware for me.

Here’s a side by side of what a difference polishing makes.

After adding another coat of the green I used a black glaze around the door trim.

Glaze dries quickly so you need to work fast.

Here is the finished look once I added all the hardware back.

Paint sure can work wonders for furniture!

Thanks for following along.

Stay safe and creative!
