I wanted some patio stools, but didn’t want to spend money on anything new. So, I picked these up for free, painted, stained and waterproofed them. They are perfect!
Solid wood, but old and ugly. I removed the foot bar and sanded the entire thing.
I used some paint that I already owned. Any light color will do. This is an almond color. I did two coates of paint and then I used the Stain (see pic) for the seat. This stain is a sealer and stain all in one. Super think stuff, but it looks beautiful!
After I stained and allowed them to dry overnight.
I used an aging technique that is so simple. This can be purchased in the paint section next to the cabinet transformation section.
I used a sponge to apply the glaze to the legs only and then an old cloth to wipe off. The look is exactly what I wanted. I allowed this to dry overnight.
Lastly, I applied an indoor/outdoor urethane. Two coats, allowing each to dry completely.
They blend well on my patio.
We love the final product!
